Okay, what I want to say is that, in the past 24 hours, I’ve encountered two instances where someone used the phrase, in lieu of, when they meant to say in light of. In lieu of means instead of, in light of means in view of. You can also use “because of”, “since”, or “after what just happened” in lieu of in lieu of. Come on people, get with it.
Yes, I know I’m a bit too anally retentive. So what?
